Sliding Puzzle

This is one of my micro games. Two evenings, and about six hours. Micro games teach me to copy/paste efficiently!

This is very simple sliding puzzle game made with PICO-8. The objective of the game is to arrange the tiles in the correct order from 1 to 8 for 3x3 grid and 1 to 15 for 4x4 grid by sliding them around the grid. Try to complete the puzzle in the least amount of time. As I've said before, this is very old game, apparently dating back to 1870s, and was very popular in the U.S. in 1880s. Let's call it retro game. 😅

With black, yellow and red color scheme I was aiming for ZX Spectrum vibe. You can judge if I succeeded or not. I might be currently looking at some ZX Spectrum games... Classics like Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, or Chuckie Egg. Perhaps there's some games that might bend nicely to pico-8.
